Move In Process
We're super excited that you decided to live in a Common Ground home.

Moving can be an exhaustive process so we don’t want our requirements to be as well. Below you’ll find a few simple next steps to get you set up in a flash so that you can spend your time on better things.
Here are some helpful tips to get set up quickly:
- After your application has been approved, all required documents have been executed and funds have been sent to us, we'll send a unique access code for you to obtain keys for entry. We'll typically do so one day prior to your lease commencement. Be sure to make a copy of the key and return the original one to the lockbox. We'll need to retain the original for emergency and maintenance access. We'll swing by within a week of lease commencement to remove the lockbox from the property. If you're home, we'll be sure to say hello and introduce ourselves!
- Submit the current condition of the home via RentCheck within 72 hours of lease commencement. This helps us know the condition of the property when you moved in so that we don't charge you for any issues you didn't create when you move out.
- Don't forget to sign up for electricity and make sure it is effective for the first day of your lease. You may find this website helpful: http://powertochoose.org/
- Please sign up for water, sewer and trash with the appropriate municipality. It should be fairly easy to find with a quick Google search but if you have any questions, let us know. We're here to help!
- You are required to carry an active personal liability policy that includes a minimum of $150,000 in liability coverage from a carrier with an AM Best rating of A-VII or better. Renters insurance that covers your personal belongings is separate and not required but we highly recommend you purchase this type of policy as well.
- Lastly, if you haven't already, download the AppFolio app. The app makes it super easy to pay rent, request maintenance and receive other important announcements.
